About AuthenticWork
Mentoring

Our Mission

Supporting LGBTQIA+ people and the services that support them

Supporting every client in the way they truly need can be hard in busy employment services. AuthenticWork Mentoring exists to take some of that pressure off by providing specialised support for LGBTQIA+ clients at any stage of their work journey.

Queer and gender-diverse people often need extra guidance that is overlooked, support with disclosure, finding safe and affirming workplaces, work-appropriate clothing and resumes that don’t unintentionally create barriers. This is a safe and supportive space for LGBTQIA+ people to get the help they need to succeed at work.

AuthenticWork Mentoring also works with organisations and employers who want to better support their LGBTQIA+ workers and clients. Many people want to do the right thing but don’t always have access to practical, real-world information. Training and sessions are interactive, useful, and focused on what actually works.

When people feel respected, supported, and understood, they are more likely to stay engaged, build confidence, and achieve stronger employment outcomes.

Our Approach

Work should feel safe, no matter who you are — and everyone deserves to feel like themselves on the job. At Authentic Work Mentoring, we support LGBTQIA+ people to feel confident in who they are and how they show up at work.

We help with navigating disclosure, understanding workplace expectations across different industries and finding work that feels affirming, safe and sustainable. We also support with work-appropriate clothing and presentation, making shopping and decision-making less daunting with non-judgemental guidance.

Our approach is based on real-world experience and trauma-aware practice. Sessions are structured but relaxed, focused on practical tools and clear next steps.

For employment providers and organisations, sessions are fast-paced and interactive, with clear, timely case notes and useful information that can be applied directly to support LGBTQIA+ clients more effectively.
